Tips for the professional finishing of umbrellas
As parasol coverings are usually made of heat-sensitive polyester, the right Y-O-W technique is crucial for a perfect result:
- Gentle heat transfer: Use a Secabo Heat Press with precise temperature control for your DTF transfers. In order not to damage the fabric, we recommend a reduced press temperature with high adhesive strength of the transfer.
- Use of membrane base plates: As umbrellas often have struts made of metal or plastic, a membrane base plate or a thick thermal levelling pad helps to even out any unevenness and apply even pressure to the fabric segment.
- Positioning: Make sure to place the motif in the centre of a segment to make optimum use of the tension of the fabric and avoid distortion of the logo when stretching.
