What is screen-printed textile transfer?
Screen-printed textile transfer is a tried-and-tested method for printing customised designs onto textiles. The desired single-colour or multi-colour design is transferred onto a special carrier film using screen printing. The design is then applied to the textile using a transfer press. This technique allows for both multi-colour prints and simple single-colour designs.

- Thin lines and fonts: Very thin lines or small fonts under 0.5 pt (0.2 mm) may not be clearly legible.
- Exact Pantone colours are difficult: As screen printing uses CMYK colours, achieving an exact match with Pantone colours is challenging.
How is screen-printed textile transfer carried out?
To create your own custom screen-printed textile transfer, create your design in the desired size on A3 paper (28 cm x 40 cm) and save it as a vector file (AI, PDF or EPS). In the YOW! shop, upload your design and select the desired print run. The finished screen-printed textile transfers will be dispatched within 5 working days. The designs are then applied by placing the transfer onto the fabric and using a transfer press, which combines heat and pressure. Pressing and washing instructions
- Pressing conditions: The optimum temperature for applying the screen-printed textile transfer is 150 °C for 12 seconds at medium pressure. Once applied, the carrier film should be peeled off whilst still warm.
- Washing instructions: To ensure the longevity of the designs, the printed garment should be washed inside out. Spin at a maximum of 1,000 rpm and tumble dry at a moderate temperature up to a maximum of 60 °C. When ironing the inside of the garment, the temperature should not exceed 150 °C. Dry cleaning is not recommended.
