A lot has happened – that was 2009!

We’ve had a turbulent and eventful year. So eventful, in fact, that only now do we have time for a brief look back:

We’re growing!

Of course, the economic crisis has not left YOW! unscathed, but it has not permanently slowed the growth of Europe’s largest online shop for advertising and creative technologies! As well as taking on new staff in technical support, our team has been further strengthened by three new apprentices; we even have five apprenticeship places available for September 2010! Find out more and apply now!

On the road

The YOW! team has been on the move a lot; at roadshows and creative workshops in Berlin, Stuttgart, Hamburg, Vienna and Zurich, amongst other places, we’ve made lots of new and exciting contacts.

At the German Model Masters in Nuremberg, YOW! showcased itself to a wide audience with its own exhibition stand. It was a success.

Home game

YOW! was also active at the company’s headquarters in Wolnzach and cut a fine figure whilst doing so:

Bavaria on the move: “Run 10!” – ten kilometres in ten weeks!
Together with SV Geroldshausen and FC Unterpindhart, YOW! sponsored over 250 runners in ‘Run 10!’ and fielded 10 runners of its own. This event was organised for the second time by the ‘Abendschau’ programme on Bavarian Television, the Bavarian State Sports Association (BLSV) and the Centre for Prevention and Sports Medicine at the Technical University of Munich in Wolnzach – and managed to motivate around 1,200 of the 6,000 participants to take part in the final sprint. We were there!

On Children’s Day in Wolnzach, we took part with a button-making machine – in four hours, we produced more than 500 buttons and made around twice as many children’s eyes light up.

The undisputed highlight at the company’s headquarters in Wolnzach was undoubtedly the two in-house exhibitions organised by YOW!: In January and September, our interested visitors had the opportunity to try out all the creative technologies in person, receive personalised advice from staff and get to know YOW! and its partners through a small programme of events.

Cast adhesive film with a carbon-fibre look for automotive and car tuning applications is now available online at YOW! http://tinyurl.com/cagt7t – that was it, our very first tweet on Twitter! Since then, we’ve posted 137 more, and we’re delighted to have 114 followers! Our Facebook page and our group on XING also provide information about us and our products!

A highlight on social media was our Advent calendar on the blog: 24 days, 24 little doors and 24 creative ideas! Unfortunately, the St Barbara’s branches didn’t bloom, but it certainly wasn’t down to us or the lovely vase!

YOW! 2.0

In October, the time had finally come: we were able to launch a new and improved online shop for advertising and creative technology! With a completely revamped and optimised user experience, improved search and filter functions, and more than 3,500 new products, YOW! 2.0 is now fully equipped for Web 2.0.

The new and innovative products include, amongst others, the TC 7 – the largest transfer press with a working surface of 41–51 cm – badges with a make-up mirror or an integrated bottle opener, printable magnetic film, self-adhesive steel film with a ferromagnetic adhesive backing, (pneumatic) double-plate transfer presses from Secabo, Oracal 751 C self-adhesive films, Secabo solvent large-format printers, ready2print banners – the only pre-hemmed and pre-eyeletted digital print banner, laminators and trimmers for finishing large-format digital prints, whisper-quiet compressors and much, much more…..

And in 2010?

We’ve got plenty planned for 2010 too; after all, we want to be able to say again at the end of the year: YOW! A lot has happened!
