Everyone loves sparkling reversible sequins!

There’s no getting away from this trend at the moment – glittering reversible sequins that change colour when you run your finger over them, revealing a different design.

Press the appliqué onto jackets, T-shirts, rucksacks or bags to transform rather plain clothes and accessories into cool, eye-catching pieces. These sparkling metal discs can even be used to embellish paper!

Here are our instructions for making a cool bag with a stylish message design, including all the key steps for using sublimation-compatible reversible sequins:

With the Virtuoso Print Manager, you can easily print your design using the SawGrass printer. We recommend using TexPrint sublimation paper for this. Getting started with Virtuoso Print Manager. This programme cannot be used to create the file, only to print it. The file should therefore be in .jpg or .png format. In the settings, ‘Top Quality’ should be selected, and the file must be mirrored. For the substrate, either select your sublimation item or choose ‘various sublimation products’. Set the correct paper type, then select ‘graphic’ or ‘photographic’. You can fine-tune the colours using the additional sliders. You can now print your design. Don’t be surprised by the pale colours; this is because the paper has a slightly yellowish tinge. However, this does not affect the colour vibrancy of the final result.

In the second step, we use the Secabo TS7 Swingaway transfer press to sublimate our design and transfer it onto the fabric. This is done in a single step.
Peel off the backing paper from the reverse side of the sublimation-compatible reversible sequinsand position the fabric bag centrally on the Secabo TS7 Swingaway transfer press. Then place the sequin patch to be sublimated on top as you wish, and place the printed sublimation paper over it.

You can press the whole thing at 180°C for 120 seconds on a medium pressure setting.

You can secure the design with heat-activated tape so that it doesn’t slip when you close the press. Heat-activated tape works just like ordinary adhesive tape, except that it is heat-resistant. You can use it in exactly the same way for sublimation printing on mugs.  Inthe YOW! online shop, you’ll of course also find a wide selection of sublimation mugs, water bottles and jugs.

And once everything has been pressed, it’s best to let the fabric bag cool down a little – then you’re ready to go – just turn it over and back, and you can read our message of love!
A brilliant effect that’s simply great fun.

With sublimation-compatible reversible sequins, you can of course also sublimate the coloured side. However, you should bear in mind that lighter colours do not take to this side as well. We therefore recommend that you only sublimate the white side, or else work with plenty of black designs.
